Gorleston Sea Wall Collapse 1969

When the Sea Wall at Gorleston-on-Sea last collapsed in 1969 there was a photographic record made of the damage to the wall and the subsequent repairs.

Bernard Harris who works for Great Yarmouth Borough Services provided all the photographs on this page. We are grateful to Bernard for allowing us to use these photographs which are a stark reminder of what awaits us if the seawall fails.

As always, after destruction comes reconstruction which is also represented.
